This guide is meant to help you get started on sim and hopefully take part in an immersive and evolving story.

We have a group of OOC leads and admins in ROIAF that will be able to help answer your questions. Please feel free to contact them, or if they’re offline, direct your questions to this group:

  • Each region’s specific lore is located here.
  • Now that you’re up-to-date on the sim rules and story, please check out what roles are available. These are located both on the community forums and underneath each reagions specific lore. If there is something not listed that you would like to play, please feel free to contact the OOC lead of that region to discuss it.
  • In fact, before you begin creating a character, touch base with the OOC lead for that region.  You can locate who the OOC leads are here.
  • Once you have spoken with an OOC lead, or admin, and have decided on a character, you can submit an application.

If you want to get a feeling for the roleplay on sim:

Throw on some medieval attire, grab an OOC Tag at the Landing Point and head down to the sim. You can watch scenes as long as players agree (please ask them beforehand), wander the sim, and gather ideas that might help with character creation.

If you aren’t familiar with the book series of George R.R. Martin or the HBO Show:

http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Main_Page is a great resource for everything related to the lore. Please  note that our version is set roughly a century before the story in the both the books and the show. Also keep in mind that we don’t allow characters or storylines taken directly from either the book or show.
